Hi Everyone

summer is truly here in Aotearoa New Zealand. I am wnjoying the heat on our national day and I think a swim is in the works very soon.

To my request. I’m looking for a list off songs in the (very crudely put) Spanish/Mexican surf flavour. Something in the Pintor ballpark. What have people got?

Thanks

Simon.

A little bit of a stretch, but Nomad by the Aqua Velvets might be close to that style.

I almost don't know how you separate surf from the Spanish/Mexican influence. So many, but I guess some are more than others.

Aqua Velvets - Spanish Blue - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXO-pTGZnUI

Twango by Teisco Del Rey (Dan Forte) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1Axxb0a35Q

Seville - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZE8IYqkPAM and El Sleazo Chorizo by Teisco Del Rey - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRobei0BzkU and others - e.g., Torquays for the latter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqNeJ2gdBrw

Dick Dale - Spanish Kiss - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RmfRWaVDUI and Mexico - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QocnwXzbbw

Atlantics - Reef Break - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEpW2-1jKOU

I know Morricone was Italian, but a lot of his stuff sounded more Spanish - e.g., Los Straitjackets with GBU - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9jZoe-z2_Q

Hey, it's all Mediterranean influences.
