Reverb Tank

Effects Pedal - I've read thru the forums here and it seems like the Digitech Digiverb is the way to go for a pedal surf sound (comments?).
BTW I played a holy grail nano today and it didn't seem "verby" enough for a real surf tone - more of a subdued reverb to my ears.

1-10 is a unit
The rest fall way short in the super drip surf sound.
We are all waiting to hear the boss fender reverb unit pedal....im guessing it will suck compaired to a tank but will smoke the rest of the reverb pedals.

Is that new Boss pedal out yet? I've already read comments on this forum about it not being very good. I'm looking for something to practice with so I was thinking the digiverb would get me in the ballpark.

I don't know if the boss pedal is out yet, takes them forever once they announce something. I'm spoiled on real Tube Driven Reverb Tanks but.....could be good for a small rehearsal.

I didn't realize the pedal wasn't out, I seen and tried it quite a while back. When Roland did NAMM last year, shortly after that they did a small show locally here (in Richmond) and I attended. While my main interest was the VG-99 they had the 63 Reverb pedal there.
Truthfully I didn't spend a lot of time putting it through it's paces, but my thought was it didn't sound much different than any other of the digital reverbs I have or tried previously. I felt it robbed a little of the guitars natural tone as well (sort of mellowed out the sound). Lastly, it didn't sound anything like my tank but it tried.
The gear was a Roland JC120, Texmex Strat with wounds (no idea on the year but it looked like it had been well used) and of course the pedal.
